92-Year-Old Michigan Man Wins $434,105 Fast Cash Jackpot After Following a “Hunch”
Lottery jackpots across the United States continue to make headlines — and this time, luck struck Lansing, Michigan. A 92-year-old man couldn’t believe his fortune after discovering he had won $434,105 from the Michigan Lottery’s Fast Cash jackpot game.
A Lucky Hunch Pays Off
Call it intuition or superstition — the anonymous winner simply knew his tickets were special. While purchasing them, he even told the cashier he had a good feeling, noting that the progressive jackpot had been climbing steadily without a winner.
His confidence wavered at first. The man bought two tickets but didn’t win. Undeterred, he visited another store and purchased two more. One ticket won $50, and the other revealed the winning “59” and “Jackpot” combination, securing his six-figure prize.
“I knew right away what had happened,” he said, explaining that he still scanned the ticket for confirmation. The winning ticket was sold at the Sunoco gas station on 645 Migaldi Lane in Lansing.
Sharing the Fortune
Overjoyed with his win, the 92-year-old said he plans to share the prize with his family. He visited the lottery office to claim his winnings, calling the experience “a wonderful surprise.”
Lottery Officials Remind Players to Check Their Tickets
Using the excitement surrounding the recent win, the Michigan Lottery reminded players to double-check their tickets — especially from Powerball and Mega Millions draws. Even if the jackpot isn’t hit, unclaimed prizes can still reach up to $1 million.
The reminder follows a string of notable wins in the region. In June, The Breakfast Club lottery group from Michigan claimed the record-breaking $842 million Powerball jackpot. More recently, a 72-year-old woman from Illinois won $1 million, and Donna Osborne from Pennsylvania took home $5 million from the MONOPOLY Own It All Scratch-Off game.
